Dorothy M. Neithercut

Dorothy M. Neithercut, 87, of Waterboro and formerly of Saco, died Saturday June 20, 2009, at Varney Crossing Nursing Home in North Berwick.

She was born in Saco on October 7, 1921 a daughter of Ralph and Mertic (Houston) Mererve. Dorothy was educated in Saco schools.      

Mrs. Neithercut owned and operated Saco Electric Shop with her husband Paul for 30 years. She was a member of the Dyer Library, Saco Museum, Southern Maine Medical Center Auxiliary and the Women’s Educational and Industrial Union of Saco. She enjoyed gardening and travel and spending time with family.

Dorothy was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Paul V. Neithercut; by her son James Neithercut II, two brothers, Carl Meserve, Clarence Meserve and sister, Helen Mathews.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Theriault of east Waterboro; her brother, Kenneth Meserve of Windham. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Angela, and Kevin Theriault Jr. and one great grandchild, Johnathon Theriault.

A graveside service was held Tuesday at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are by Cote Funeral Home, Saco.
