Police note (July 2, 2009)
DELAY OF DECK
A caller reported a load of two-by-fours in the road. The caller picked them up and stacked them for collection.
SIZE MATTERS
A caller reported two potholes that were “quite large” and filled with water that may have damaged his vehicle. Police said there were several small potholes in the area that would not cause a hazard but notified public works anyway.
SAFE FROM HUNTERS
The Department of Marine Wildlife requested a seal on Hills Beach be removed. The department said the seal had orange spray paint on it.
EARLY FOURTH OF JULY
A caller reported people setting off fireworks near a beach. A family having a party had shot bottle rockets toward the ocean but promised to stop, police said.
FRESH PAINT IS HARD TO RESIST
A business employee reported a vehicle intentionally drove though a parking lot with freshly painted parking spaces, smearing them. Police escorted the suspect’s mother to the parking lot to view the damage.
