Leatrice M. Morin, 86, of Old Orchard Beach, died Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at St. Andre’s Healthcare in Biddeford.
She was born Oct. 23, 1922, in Saco, to Niles and Rose Cartier Lundstrom. She went to Notre Dame School and graduated from Thornton Academy, class of 1940. She also attended Southern Maine Vocational Technical Institute.
Earlier, Mrs. Morin worked at the Saco City Clerk’s Office for two years. She also worked for Saco Lowell Shops, Bates Manufacturing in Saco and New England Telephone Co. in Biddeford for several years.
On Nov. 16, 1946, she married Arnold H. Morin.
From 1955 to 1972 she was employed by Snow Canning in Pine Point. During the mid 1970s she was state representative for District 117. In 1985 she retired from SMVTI in South Portland.
Mrs. Morin was a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Old Orchard Beach. She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and visiting nurses. She was an avid bowler, enjoyed walking on the beach, decorating cakes and making afghans, quilts and food for her extended family. She was known amongst her family as the family photographer. She was a parishioner of St. Margaret’s Church where she was a member of St. Margaret’s Sodality and the church choir.
She was predeceased in 1982 by her husband, Arnold H. Morin, and by her brother, Stanton Lundstrom, and two sisters Pearl I. Amello and Alma Nelson.
She is survived by her son David S. Morin and his wife, Kathy, of Old Orchard Beach; her daughter Kathleen Stryker and her husband, George, of Saco; her grandchildren, Sherri, Angela, Tamra, Kris, Jason and Eric; seven great-grandchildren; brother- and sisters-in-laws; several nieces, nephews and devoted longtime neighbor and friend Marjorie Garon.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday at St. Margaret’s Church in Old Orchard Beach, with burial in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Saco.
Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider donations to St. Andre’s Healthcare Facility Alzheimer’s Unit, 407 Pool St., Biddeford, ME 04005.

Nicole Ann Perrault
Nicole Ann Perrault, 28, of Waterboro, died Tuesday, June 30, 2009, in Waterboro.
She was born Feb. 25, 1981, in Biddeford, to Robert and Deborah Beall Cormiea. She was educated at Old Orchard Beach High School.
She was known for her kind heart and innocence. She loved her family, especially her children.
She is survived by her parents, Robert and Deborah Cormiea of Saco; her husband, Travis, of Waterboro; her son, Hunter Perrault of Waterboro; her daughters, Mercedes and Melody Perrault of Waterboro; her brother, Robert Cormiea Jr. of Biddeford; her sister, Danielle Cormiea of Saco; two nephews Bobby and Conner Cormiea and her niece, Lacey Mae Perrault.
Burial will be private.

Doris Desilets Stearns
Doris Desilets Stearns, 75, of Saco, died Friday, July 3, 2009, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.
She was born Sept. 2, 1933 in Biddeford, to Albert and Germaine (Drouin) Desilets. She graduated from St. Andre High School in Biddeford in 1951, and the University of Southern Maine in 1977 with a Bachelor of Arts in history.
Mrs. Stearns was employed for 22 years as a secretary in her husband’s law firm, Franklin Fox Stearns, Portland.
Mrs. Stearns was an accomplished organist. She had a great love for animals and cared for retired racing greyhounds in St. Petersburg, Fla.
She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Franklin F. Stearns Jr. of Saco; her son, Marc R. Paradis and fiancee, Deborah Groff, of Portland; her stepson, Richard F. Stearns of Portland; her stepdaughters, Stephanie Frederick and husband, Steven, of New York City, and Valerie S. Cook and husband, Brian, of Cumberland; her sisters, Claire R. Preakos and her husband, Walter, of Harrison and Palmetto, Fla., and Paulette Millett and husband, Kenneth, of Old Orchard Beach and Cape Coral, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

Marie A. Turcotte
Marie A. Turcotte, 93, of Shapleigh died Sunday July 5, 2009, at the Newton Center in Sanford after a long illness.
She was born in Stanhope, Quebec, on June 18, 1916, to George and Rose A. Drapeau Labbe. She moved with her family to the Biddeford area in 1918 and was educated in Biddeford schools.
On May 30, 1937, she married Armand L. Turcotte in St. Joseph’s Church in Biddeford. He died in 1973.
Mrs. Turcotte worked for a few years at Limerick Mills in Limerick, and 18 years at Pepperell Manufacturing Co. in Biddeford. She retired in 1968.
She was a member of the Cursillesta Movement in her church, enjoyed doing ceramics, traveling bus tours and spending two winters in Clearwater, Fla.
She also was predeceased by two brothers and five sisters.
Survivors include her sons, Lawrence Turcotte and his wife, Joan, of Biddeford and Denis Charbonneau and his wife, Linda, of Realto, Calif.; her daughters, Aline Caron and her husband, Rheal, of Shapleigh and Mignonne Martin and her husband, Robert, of Shapleigh; nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Wednesday at St. Joseph Church of the Good Shepherd Parish in Biddeford, with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Biddeford.
Memorial donations in her name may be made to Bon Appetit Meal Program, in care of Second Congregational Church, 19 Crescent St., Biddeford, ME 04005.

Joseph W. Lothrop
Joseph W. Lothrop, 97, of Scarborough, died Sunday, July 5, 2009, at Southern Maine Medical Center in Biddeford.
He was born on April 1, 1912, in Scarborough, to Melville and Edith (Foard) Lothrop. He was educated in Scarborough schools.
Mr. Lothrop owned and operated Joe’s restaurant and takeout for 10 years and was a self-employed clam digger most of his life. He loved digging clams so much that he did not retire until he was 88.
He was a third-degree Mason and was with the Old Orchard Beach lodge for 60 years. He drove his car until he was 94 years old.
Mr. Lothrop was predeceased by his first wife of 45 years, Coralie Lawler Lothrop, and by his second wife Viola (Jordan) Lothrop.
He also was predeceased by four brothers, Everett, Edward, Harold and Gerald Lothrop and three sisters, Emily Sargent, Gladys Collins and Dorothy Willette.
He is survived by his two sons, Harold Lothrop of New Castle, and David Lothrop and his wife, Debbie, of Alabama; his daughter, Jody L. Nightingale and her husband, Mitchell, of Lyman; his sister Beatrice “Betty” Phillips and her husband, Lloyd, of Kennebunk; nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. today at Cote Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Brooklawn Memorial Park in Portland.

Marian Duhamel
Marian Duhamel, 85, of Greenacre Road, Old Orchard Beach, died Tuesday, June 30, 2009, at Seal Rock Nursing Care Center in Saco.
Mrs. Duhamel was born Oct. 6, 1923, in New Bedford, Mass., to James and May Hardman. She was educated in New Bedford schools.
She moved to Maine following her marriage to Alec J. Duhamel in 1943.
Mrs. Duhamel was a member of St. Margaret’s parish. For several years she was employed as a sales clerk in various area department stores. For the past 25 years she wintered in Melbourne, Fla. She enjoyed the warm weather and participated in golf and tennis. She also enjoyed playing cards, bowling, dancing, reading and knitting. She and her late husband enjoyed traveling and going to Las Vegas casinos. He died in 1984.
She also was predeceased by her son, Richard B. Duhamel, and a great-grandson, Nathan Duhamel.
Survivors include her daughters, Donna Kurlanska and her husband, Eduard, Jane Duhamel and Susan Kimball, all of Saco; her sisters, Mildred Sullivan and Phyllis Roberts, both of New Bedford, Mass.; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
There were no funeral services. Memorial donations may be made to the Maine Cancer Foundation, 970 Baxter Blvd., Portland, ME 04101.
