Lucille A. Beaulieu


Lucille A. Beaulieu, 86, of Biddeford died Monday, July 6, 2009, at Southern Maine Medical Center.

 She was born in Biddeford on Nov. 27, 1922, to Arthur P. and Eugenie Jollette Hubert.

 She attended Biddeford schools and graduated from Biddeford High School in 1942. On Oct. 23, 1943, she married Raynald N. Beaulieu in St. Joseph Church.

Mrs. Beaulieu worked a few years with the Saco-Lowell Shops and in area shoe shops. She and her husband later owned and operated the Rose Briar Terrace Motel in Pine Point, Scarborough. She retired in 1986.

She was predeceased by her sister, Eva Nolette.

Survivors include her husband of 65 years of Biddeford; her daughters, Priscilla Larose and her husband, Richard, of Bridgton, and Constance Morrill of Sarasota, Fla.; her sister, Juliette Boivin of Steep Falls; five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Friday at St. Anne’s Chapel of St. Joseph Church of the Good Shepherd Parish in Biddeford. 

 Donations in her memory may be made to The Wardwell Home, 43 Middle St., Saco, ME 04072.

Arrangements were by Hope Memorial Chapel, Biddeford.


Deborah M. Wingfield


Deborah M. Wingfield, 47, of Saco, died unexpectedly Wednesday, July 8, 2009, in Bangor. 

 She was born Jan. 28, 1962, in Biddeford to Albert E. and Theresa A. (Duranceau) Brunelle.

 She was educated in Saco schools and graduated from Thornton Academy in 1980. 

 She worked for more than 20 years as a legal secretary, and last worked for the law firm of Murray Plumb & Murray in Portland.

She served as treasurer for the Oak Haven Condo Association in Saco and enjoyed spending time with her family, making greeting cards, cross-stitching, scrapbooking and doing home crafts. 

Survivors include her sons, John P. Wingfield Jr. and his wife, Jacqueline, of Cumberland Furnace, Tenn., and Clifton E. Wingfield of Saco; her brothers, Stephen Brunelle and his wife, Stephanie, of Groton, Mass., Thomas Brunelle of Yarmouth and James Brunelle of Biddeford; three grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; and her fiancé, Curtis Hendrickson of Kennebunk.

A Mass of Christian Burial was Tuesday at St. Joseph’s Church of the Good Shepherd Parish in Biddeford, with burial in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Biddeford.

 Arrangements were by Hope Memorial Chapel, Biddeford. 


Maripat S. Rousselle


Maripat S. Rousselle, 54, of Kennebunk, died Thursday, July 9, 2009, at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston.

She was born in Chicago, Ill., on Feb. 9, 1955, to John and Marguerite Rines Sonia. 

Mrs. Rousselle was a 1973 graduate of Lake Orion High School in Lake Orion, Mich. She also attended Michigan State University and received her nursing degree from Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.

She was employed by Goodhall Hospital in Sanford for nine years. She also worked for Visiting Nurses of Southern Maine Medical Center in Biddeford for 15 years, most recently as a clinical supervisor. 

She had a special feeling for all the holidays and enjoyed spending time in Harpswell. She liked football, music and her dog, Murphy Brown. Most of all, she loved her family, especially her first grandchild, Melody.    

She was predeceased by her mother, Marguerite Rines Sonia.

Survivors include her father, John W. Sonia; her husband of 29 years,  Dan J. Rousselle Sr.; her son, Danny Rousselle; her daughter, Meghan Rousselle; her brothers, John Sonia and his wife, Gail, Stephen Sonia and his wife, Mary Beth, and Andy Sonia and his wife, Lori; her sister, Susan Selby and her husband, Robert; her grandchildren, Melody and Chloe; and several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated Wednesday at Holy Spirit Parish at St. Martha’s Church in Kennebunk, with burial today in Oak Grove Cemetery in Bath.

Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider donations to Animal Welfare Society, Inc., Old Holland Road, West Kennebunk, ME 04094 or to Brigham and Women’s Hospital – Development Office, 116 Huntington Ave., Fifth floor, Boston, MA 02116.

Karen Anne Burnham


Karen Anne Burnham, 66, of Saco died unexpectedly in her home in Portland Thursday, July 9. 

She was born April 22, 1943, and spent her whole life in Maine.

She attended Saco schools and graduated from Thornton Academy in 1961. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Maine in 1965 with a degree in English. She went on to become a proofreader for Tower Publishing and was employed there for more than two decades. She also freelanced as a proofreader for many years. She had just retired from MEMIC and was planning to spend her retirement with her daughter in Oakland, Calif.

She will be remembered for her interest in genealogy, crossword puzzles and her love of reading and walking. She enjoyed spending time with her family at Little Ossipee Lake and at Fortune’s Rocks Beach.

Survivors include her daughter, Anne Burnham, and her son-in-law, Thomas Lester, of Oakland, Calif.; her sisters June Burnham and Cynthia Burnham of Saco; her brothers Allen Burnham and his wife, Laura, of Derry, N.H., and R. Peter Burnham and his wife, Kathleen FitzPatrick, of Lawrence, Mass.;  seven nieces and nephews and 10 great-nieces and nephews.

 A funeral service was Wednesday at Dennett, Craig and Pate Funeral Home, Saco.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be sent to the Dyer Library, 371 Main St., Saco, ME 04072.

Edward Genova Sr.


Edward Genova Sr., 63, of Saco Avenue, died July 9, 2009, at the Southern Maine Medical Center in Biddeford.

He was born May 1, 1946 in Waterbury, Conn., to Anthony and Ardreth (Height) Genova.

He attended schools in Connecticut and lived Maine for the majority of his life.

Mr. Genova was an ambitious member of the Faith Lighthouse-Assemblies of God Church in Old Orchard Beach.  He was very supporting of the church’s missionaries and always looked for unique ways to earn money for their support.  He was a longtime councilman for the men’s missionary program known as “Light for the Lost” and attended its fundraising banquets each year.

He received a certificate of appreciation from the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews in support of programs that helped bring Jewish families back to their homeland of Israel. Ed will always be gifted when it came to memorizing the Bible and would often times quote entire Psalms from memory.

Survivors include his wife, Bette Genova of Old Orchard Beach; his daughters,  Keira Hume of Portland and Tara Holden and her husband, Mark, of Union; his sons, Edward Genova Jr. of Canada and Michael Genova of Canada; his granddaughters,  Randalyn Shaw and her husband, Daniel, of Sanford and Amber Hume of Sanford; and his brother, Tony Genova of Florida.

A celebration of his life was held at the Faith Lighthouse - Assembly of God, Smithwheel Road, Old Orchard Beach on Wednesday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Faith Lighthouse, 47 Smithwheel Road, Old Orchard Beach, ME 04064.
