People in the News (July 23, 2009)

Rita Turcotte of Biddeford was named to the dean’s list at Saint Joseph’s College in Standish.


Nicole Robillard and Louise Reid have been named Paul Harris Fellows for 2009 by the Rotary Club of Saco Bay.

 Robillard is the daughter of new club president Dennis Robillard and his wife Mary Beth.  She is a recent graduate of Catherine McAuley High School and received the honor from her father and mother to acknowledge her lifelong commitment to serving others. She has been an avid athlete and participated in women’s field hockey and soccer and was a member of Catherine McAuley’s Key Club. She will attend Curry College in Milton, Mass., this fall to study nursing. 

Reid was recognized for her continuous community leadership and cited for the service and comfort she provides to those she knows around the world. As assistant town manager, Reid exemplifies humanitarian and educational objectives of the Rotary Foundation. She has served on an array of youth and community steering boards and is known as the “First Lady of Old Orchard Beach.

The Paul Harris Fellow was established in 1957 to honor Rotary’s founder, Paul Harris.


Local students named to the dean’s list for the spring 2009 semester at the University of Maine at Farmington are:  Marissa Boucher, Ashley Rochefort, Yeneida Rubio and Heather Vadnais of Biddeford; Greta Nelson of Dayton; Kristi Geaumont and Megan Sullivan of Old Orchard Beach; and Joshua Bossie, Lori Green, Amanda Hatch, Mackenzie Jones, Stephanie Lennon, Lauren Martin, Emma Morrison, Brian Morrison and Jennifer Trautvetter of Saco.
