Police notes (Aug. 6, 2009)

MALFUNCTION

A caller reported that her husband was driving and the hood of his car fell off. 


NOT THE FLAMIGO!

A caller reported her husband was drunk and damaging property. Police said a plastic lawn ornament was damaged. 


ALARMING

An alarm was reported at a building housing numerous businesses. Police said the alarm was set off when a band moving equipment from the building punched in the wrong code.  


BICYCLE IN THE SHOP

An off-duty officer reported a suspicious male on the street. Police said the male was waiting for a ride so he could deliver newspapers. 


GONE TOO FAR

A caller reported two kayaks in the ocean were getting out too far. Police communicated with Marine Patrol, who returned the two boys to their father. 


WHALE OF A TALE

An officer reported a dead 8-foot whale on the beach. The officer contacted Marine Resources, which said it planned to leave the whale on the beach.


THOROUGH PROBE

An officer reported a piece of paper on the ground was trash.


QUICK EXIT

Police stopped a vehicle with a missing driver’s side door.


SLOWING  THE TRAIN

A railroad company reported several items placed on railroad tracks in recent weeks, including a log and a mattress. The railroad company requested extra patrols of the tracks.


OOPS!

A business reported receiving fake quarters. Officers said the quarters were real but mutilated.
