Sherry Sabo is 2009 'Great Person'
The winner of this year’s Courier Great Person Award is Sherry Sabo, who retired last year as chief executive officer of Counseling Services Inc.
Sabo was nominated by members of the Common Connection Club in Biddeford, who wrote in a nomination letter that she “was a tireless advocate in Augusta for the rights of the mentally ill…The Courier’s Great Person award is a meaningful way to recognize her remarkable legacy to Maine’s community mental health system, including the many thousands of people whose lives were positively affected by her inspired leadership.”
