Lucille E. Labbe

Lucille E. Labbe, 82, of Biddeford died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2009, at Gosnell Hospice House in Scarborough.
 She was born May 22, 1927, in Biddeford to Desire and Leila Bouthillette Auger and was educated in Biddeford schools.

On Nov. 25, 1948, she married Wilfred F. Labbe at St. Joseph Church in Biddeford. He died Jan. 13, 2009.

Mrs. Labbe worked a few years in area shoe shops and 35 years with Pepperell Manufacturing Co. She retired in 1978.
Mrs. Labbe enjoyed sewing and doing home crafts. She was a member of St. Philip’s Church in Lyman.

Survivors include three sons, Donald R. Labbe and his wife, Sandra, of Orleans, Ontario, Canada, Guy G. Labbe and his wife, Janice, of Lyman and Maurice L. Labbe and his wife, Melissa, of Waterboro; a daughter, Linda Hajjar and her husband, Douglas, of Buxton; two brothers, Robert Auger and his wife, Carol, of Ocean Springs, Miss., and Richard D. Auger and his wife, Rosalie, of Buxton; five sisters, Lena Grenier and her husband, Romeo, of Biddeford, Rachel Ruel and her husband, Raymond, of Sanford, Claire Credit and her husband, Real, of Biddeford, Mignonne Nelson and her husband, Lloyd, of New Port Richey, Fla., and Francoise Auger of Biddeford; nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild, several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was Saturday at Hope Memorial Chapel, Biddeford, with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery in Biddeford.

 Memorial donations in Mrs. Labbe’s name may be made to St. Philip’s Church, Route 35, Lyman, ME 04002 or Hospice of Southern Maine, 180 U.S. Route 1, Suite 1, Scarborough, ME 04074-9925.

Edna T. Bloodgood


Edna T. Bloodgood, 81, of Saco, died Sunday, Jan. 3, 2009, at her residence.

She was born June 6, 1928, in Biddeford to Ovide and Roseanna Bouthiellette Poitras. She was educated in Saco schools.
She was employed by J.J. Newberry’s Department Store in Biddeford and later was a homemaker who enjoyed raising her family.
Her hobbies included knitting, bowling and beano. She was a member of Saco Fire Department Auxiliary.

Mrs. Bloodgood was a parishioner of Notre Dame de Lourdes Church, Good Shepherd Parish in Saco.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Eugene Bloodgood of Saco; a daughter,  Deborah J. Perreault of Saco; a granddaughter, Bethany; and two great-granddaughters,  Kailey and Chloe.

Private services are being held.

Arrangements are by Cote Funeral Home, Saco.

Marci Jo Peck

Marci Jo Peck, 28, of  Biddeford, died unexpectedly Monday, Jan. 4, 2010, at Maine Medical Center in Portland.
She was born March 31, 1981, in Portland, to Robert and Brenda Chase Peck.

She attended Saco schools and graduated from Thornton Academy in 1999. She loved to go fishing with her father and friend Rabbi. She also enjoyed dancing and watching wrestling – her favorite was Randy Orten. Her greatest love was her children and family.

She is survived by her two children, Chad Hicks, 8, and Keira Hicks, 3, and their father, Joshua Hicks; her parents, Robert and Brenda Peck; two sisters, Tammy Kinney and her husband, Scott, and Marnie and her niece, Destiny, all of Virginia; and two nephews, Alex and Max Kinney.

Burial will be at a later date at Pine Grove Cemetery in Waterboro.

The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made for the benefit of her children in care of Brenda Peck, 45 Union St., Apt. 103, Biddeford, ME 04005.

Mahlon L. Johnson

Mahlon L. Johnson died Monday, Jan. 4, 2010, after a short illness.

He was the eighth of 11 children born to Arlington and Lillian (Hayford) Johnson.

He grew up on the family farm in Saco and attended Thornton Academy.  He joined the Navy at 17 and served as an aviation machinist’s mate.  While stationed in San Diego he moonlighted as an ice deliveryman.  He was on an aircraft carrier in Okinawa awaiting deployment to Japan when the war ended.

 Mr. Johnson worked many years in highway construction before moving to Georgetown, Mass.  He then worked at General Electric in Lynn, Mass., for 25 years and retired in 1986.  After retiring he enjoyed traveling around the country in his RV.  He loved gardening, playing cribbage and his shitzu, Baby. He was a member of the Georgetown VFW and the Masonic Temple in Saco.

 Survivors include his five children, Sandy Olley of Amesbury, Mass., Marcia Perkins and husband, Ron, of Plum Island, Mass., Donna Braden and husband, Steve, of Wilmington, Del., Lori Gillen and husband, Jeff, of Georgetown, Mass., and Douglas Johnson and partner, Rosemary McBride, of El Cerrito, Calif.; nine grandchildren, Alex and Bryony Olley, Paul, Zack and Mike Braden, Kelly and Kyle Gillen and Finnegan and Callum McBride; his brother Leonard and wife, June, of Saco; several sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law and many nieces and nephews.

 A memorial service will be held in Saco at a later date.

 In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Georgetown VFW Post 7608, High School Scholarship Fund, 435 Andover St., Georgetown, MA 01833.

Roland E. Dubuc

Roland E. Dubuc, 88, of Biddeford, died Monday, Jan. 4, 2010, at Southridge Living Center, Biddeford. He was born May 12, 1921, in Saco to Eddie and Olivette (Hurd) Dubuc and attended area schools.

On Aug. 9, 1941, he married Rita T. Pelletier. She died Oct. 7, 2009, after 67 years of marriage.

Mr. Dubuc worked at many of the local shoe shops for most of his life.

He enjoyed singing and playing his guitar.

He is predeceased by his wife, his son Donald Dubuc, and his daughter Theresa Tardif.

Survivors include his daughter, Joan Bedard and her husband, Raymond, of Biddeford; his daughter-in-law, Janet Dubuc of Biddeford; his son-in-law, Arthur Tardif of Saco; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

All services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Rita C. Sevigny


Rita C. Sevigny, 81, of Biddeford died Sunday, Jan. 10, 2010, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.

 She was born Sept. 2, 1928, in Sanford to Wilfred and Roseanna Becotte Coutu and was educated at St. Ignatius School in Sanford.
On Aug. 30, 1947, she married A. Norman Sevigny at St. Ignatius Church in Sanford.

Mrs. Sevigny worked at the former Butler’s Department Store in Biddeford. She owned and operated the Bar-B-Q King in Old Orchard Beach for 10 years and operated the Palace Diner in Biddeford for several years.

She was a member of Biddeford AMVETS Post #1 Auxiliary, the Tri City Community Chorus and St. Mary Church Choir. She was a former den mother for Cub Scout Troop #308. She enjoyed Tuesday card games with her friends, doing and teaching ceramics, knitting, crocheting, home crafts and tending to her house plants. She was active in St. Mary Parish and was involved in repainting the Stations of the Cross at St. Mary Church, figurines of the nativity at St. Mary Church Biddeford and St. Martha Church in Kennebunk and the statues of St. Mary and St. Francis in St. Mary Cemetery Biddeford. For several years she wintered in Sarasota and Vegas, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her son, William Sevigny; two sisters, Lillian Normand and Bertha Larose.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, A. Norman Sevigny of Biddeford; two sons, Michael N. Sevigny and his wife, Jeanne, of Westford, Vt., and     James R. Sevigny and his wife, Paulette, of Biddeford; a daughter, Sharon R. Sevigny and her longtime companion, Craig Rancourt, of Saco; a daughter-in-law, Debra Houde and her husband, Donald, of Biddeford; four brothers, Maurice Coutu of Sanford, Donald Coutu and his wife, Rose, of Sanford, Richard Coutu and his wife, Sally, of Plymouth, N.H., and Raymond Coutu and his wife, Fran, of Plymouth, N.H.; one sister, Beatrice Sicard of Springfield, Mass.; six grandchildren, Shawna Browne and her husband, Jeff, Jason Sevigny, Greg Sevigny, Briana Sevigny and her fiancé, Rosemary Dowling, Leila Sevigny and her companion, Ryan Ericson and Tyler Sevigny; and three great-grandchildren, Ethan and Haley Browne and Lily Anne Sevigny; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be 11 a.m. today at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery in Biddeford
