Students of the month at Biddeford Primary School were honored during Jan. 25 during a ceremony at the school. They are: Zachary Greenlaw, Dakota Senecal, Aiden Dyke, Paige Menard, Bryce Newton, Hannah Ledoux, Alexis Poulin, Cheyenne Janelle and Lydia Huzij from first grade; Megan Reed, Bryce Henaire, Myles Moore, Jillian Demeule, Alyssa Johnston, Maria Gattuso, Jacob Pinkham, Trizzie Ha, Randy Stone and Memphis Berry from second grade; and Anastasia Cote, Devin Cho-Sargent, Jeremy Daigneault, Zoe LeComte, Steven Do, Keegan Rogers, Joshua Wason, Tylor Summerson and Addison Moore from third grade.
The York County Republican Committee in December elected Ron Morrell as chairman and Ryan McCabe as vice chairman. Karen Gerrish continued as treasurer and Virginia Jennings was elected from the floor at the January meeting to fill the position as secretary.

Doris Provencher Faucher of Biddeford recently published “Imperial Conquest,” the fourth historical novel of her Quebecois series. The family saga is based on genealogical and historical research of her early Canadian ancestors who experienced the evolution of the French colonial presence in North America from the mid-1600s to 1763. Artenay Press published the book.
Molly E. Griffiths, daughter of William Griffiths of Old Orchard Beach, was named to the dean’s list for the fall 2009 semester at Saint Michael’s College in Colchester, Vt. Griffiths is a senior psychology major. Griffiths graduated from Kennebunk High School.
Benjamin J. Lampert of Old Orchard Beach, a mechanical engineering student at Clarkson University in Potsdam, N.Y., was named to the dean’s list for the fall 2009 semester.
Lauren Bartholomew received a certificate and plaque for winning the geography bee at Saco Middle School. She now will complete a test and move on to the state bee to be held this spring at the University of Southern Maine in Portland.
Senior Samuel Nye and sophomore Adam Nye of Old Orchard Beach were named to the honor roll for the first trimester at North Yarmouth Academy in Yarmouth.
Ashley MacDonald of Old Orchard Beach was named to the dean’s list for the fall 2009 term at Curry College in Milton, Mass.
Brittany Sawyer of Saco was named to the dean’s list for the fall 2009 semester at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Conn.
Kristen A. Tonder of Old Orchard Beach, a senior majoring in management, and Krista Goulet of Saco, a senior majoring in psychology, have been named to the fall semester dean’s list at Western New England College in Springfield, Mass.
Taylor Grenier, daughter of Peter and Karen Grenier of Old Orchard Beach, has been named to the dean’s list for the fall semester at the University of New England. She is a 2009 graduate of Old Orchard Beach High School.
Jill Santamore, a senior psychology and religious studies major at College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass., has been named to the dean’s list for the fall semester. She is the daughter of Cliff and Kathy Santamore of Saco.
Sarah Dunbar of Saco was named to Susquehanna University’s dean’s list for the fall 2009 semester. Dunbar, a freshman majoring in communications with an emphasis in journalism, is a 2009 graduate of Thornton Academy and the daughter of Steven and Karen Dunbar. Susquehanna is located in Selinsgove, Pa.
