The award represents the opinion of three organizations – the Chamber of Commerce, Saco Spirit and Heart of Biddeford.
Flood and his wife, Carolyn, moved to the area in 1989 to start the Biddeford-Saco Courier and sold the company in 2007. He is former president of the Biddeford-Saco Chamber of Commerce, was the first president of the Heart of Biddeford and is still on its board of directors. He is on the board of directors of Biddeford Free Clinic and has been active in several other local organizations.
Flood served on the Biddeford City Council for two years but gave up his seat to run for mayor last fall. He currently is working with Caleb Johnson, an architect in Biddeford, to buy and refurbish downtown buildings.
