Mary Rose A. Dubois

 

Mary Rose A. Dubois, 75, of Saco died Tuesday, April 6, 2010, at Southern Maine Medical Center in Biddeford after a brief illness.

 She was born Aug. 1, 1934, in Saco to Joseph and Laura Constant Fortier and was educated in Saco schools. She graduated from Thornton Academy in 1954.

On May 30, 1955, she married Leonel G. Dubois in Notre Dame de Lourdes Church in Saco. He died Dec. 9, 2009.

Mrs. Dubois worked several years at Maremont Corp. in Saco and last worked at Pratt & Whitney in North Berwick. She retired in 1992.

She enjoyed roller-skating, dancing, Bingo and playing card games.

In retirement she wintered in Nalcrest, Fla., for many years.

She was predeceased by her brother, John R. Fortier, and her sister, Marie Jeanne Leclair.

Survivors include two sons, James Dubois and his wife, Susan, of Springvale, and David Dubois and his wife, Brenda, of Biddeford; her daughter, Nancy Ames and her husband, John, of Biddeford; two brothers, Paul Fortier of Saco and Albert Fortier and his wife, Pauline, of Saco; her sister, Rosa Gerry and her husband, Jovis, of Sun City, Fla.; five grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements were by Hope Memorial Chapel, Biddeford.

 

Simonne Cote

 

Simonne Cote, 87, of Biddeford, died Sunday, April 11, 2010, at Southern Maine Medical Center.

She was born March 21, 1923, in Biddeford, to Adelard and Delia (Lemay) Cote. She graduated from St. Andre High School.

Following high school, Mrs. Cote continued her education with former Maine Eye & Ear Infirmary, Portland, and John Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, Md., for her post-graduate work.

Mrs. Cote was a registered nurse at the former Webber Hospital in Biddeford for many years. She also worked at St. Andre Health Care Facility for more than 24 years and trained the first group of nurse’s aides at the facility. She retired in 1996.

She enjoyed reading and playing word search and crossword puzzles as well as going out to eat with her family and friends and spoiling her grand-nieces.

Mrs. Cote was a very caring nurse who not only devoted herself to caring for her ailing patients, but was also very generous and willing to offer a helping hand to any who asked.

She was predeceased by her four brothers, Hervey, Romeo, Robert and Donald Cote, and her sister, Gabrielle Montambeau.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews and several grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Arrangements were by Hope Memorial Chapel, Biddeford.
