Edmund H. De Mar
Edmund H. De Mar, 90, formerly of Sanford, died Monday, May 3, 2010, at Seaside Nursing Home in Portland.
He was born May 21, 1919, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Harry C. and Lillie Kohl De Mar. He was educated in New York and Connecticut schools.
Mr. De Mar served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II and the Korean conflict.
On July 19, 1947, he married Muriel Blouin in Biddeford. She died May 16, 2001.
He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, VFW and American Legion.
Survivors include his daughter, Claire Daigneault and her husband, Donald, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a niece.
Arrangements were by Hope Memorial Chapel, Biddeford.
Flora Blanche McKee
Flora Blanche McKee, 87, of Old Orchard Beach, died Tuesday, May 4, 2010, at St. Andre Health Care Facility in Biddeford.
She was born May 8, 1922, in Biddeford to Charles and Flora Caron Goodwin. She was educated in Biddeford schools.
Mrs. McKee was a homemaker who loved raising her children. She was an accomplished seamstress who made clothes for her children. Her hobbies included reading and crafts. She also spent 10 years wintering in Florida.
Most of all, she loved to spend time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and sisters.
She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur, in 1990; one son, James; and five sisters, Marion Libby, Drucella Goodwin, Harriet Collins, Carrie White and June Neault.
Survivors include one son, Skip McKee and his wife, Janice, of Washington; five daughters, Barbara Johnson of Georgia, Sharon Roberge and husband, Norman, of Saco, Linda McKee Houze and her husband, William, of Arizona, Carol Chadbourne and her husband, James, of Florida, and Becky Darres and her husband, Michael, of Morrill; one sister, Winniford Hanson and her husband, Richard, of Saco; 17 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements were by Cote Funeral Home, Saco.
