La Kermesse begins next week at Biddeford Ice Arena

The La Kermesse Franco-Americaine Festival will begin 5 p.m. Friday, June 25, at the Biddeford Ice Arena and Expo Center. Friday’s festivities include a casino, brew fest, La Kermesse Idol auditions and music from two area disc jockeys.

A pig roast will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Admission is $5 or a button.

Saturday will feature free outdoor entertainment, including face painting, climbing wall, petting zoo and pony rides beginning at 9 a.m.

Music by local artists will be featured from 1 to 6 p.m. Inside the expo center, a variety of activities are planned, including a video of the festival’s history, idol show and a performance by Motor Booty Affair. Saturday admission is $10 or a button.

A Catholic Mass will be held from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Sunday, followed by a crepe breakfast until noon.

The La Kermesse Idol finals will begin at 11 a.m., followed by a benefit concert by the Alumni Band at noon.

La Kermesse buttons are now on sale for $10 at area businesses, including Biddeford Savings Bank, Ray’s Market, Hannaford and Shaw’s in Biddeford and Saco, Majestic Flower Shop, Vic’s Appliances and Pool Street Market.
