Lorraine J. Stewart
Lorraine J. Stewart, 72, of Saco, died Saturday, Aug. 7, 2010, at her residence.
She was born Sept. 19, 1937, in Biddeford to Henry and Lena Martel Letarte. She was educated in Biddeford schools.
Mrs. Stewart was employed by Wormwoods By The Breakwater in Camp Ellis for 35 years.
She was an avid bowler who won many championships in local, state, regional and world competitions. Her hobbies included crocheting, crossword puzzles and Bingo.
She was preceded in death by her second husband, Wayne Stewart; her brother, Raymond, and her sister, Louise Plummer.
Survivors include her three children, Deborah A. Santos and her husband, Brian, of Washington, D.C., Sandra J. Foss of Saco and William D. Foss and his wife, Heidi, of Grants Pass, Ore.; her first husband, Stephen Foss of Cherry Hill, N.J.; three sisters, Lillian Lessard of Biddeford, Alice Delage of Biddeford and Annette Joyce of North Windham; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Yvan Parent
Yvan Parent, 59, of Biddeford, died Friday, Aug. 6, 2010, at his residence.
He was born in St.-Zacharie, Canada, on Feb. 20, 1951, to Lucien and Therese Maheux Parent. He was educated in Canada.
In 1968, he moved from Canada to Biddeford. He was employed by New England Homes in Biddeford for several years and later worked for Faucher Brothers, Dirigo Drywall and Dube Drywall. “Mudman,” as he was known, then owned and operated the family business, Parent Drywall, in Biddeford for 28 years.
He enjoyed snowmobiling and four-wheeling and watching ice hockey and football. Most of all, he loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Mr. Parent was a parishioner of St. Joseph Church, Good Shepherd Parish, in Biddeford.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Danielle Beaulieu Parent of Biddeford; three children, Chantal Tremblay and her husband, Jerry, Eric Parent and his wife, Lynn, and Adam Parent, all of Biddeford; one brother, Ghislain Parent; four sisters, Nicole Parent, Gaetane Papineau, Helene Rancourt and Simone Simoneau; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Frances Gendron
Frances Gendron, 79, of Biddeford, died Friday, Aug. 6, 2010, at St. Andre Health Care Facility in Biddeford.
She was born May 20, 1931, in Biddeford to Urbain and Helen Tremblay Gendron. She was educated in Biddeford schools.
She was employed by Herman Shoe in Scarborough for several years. She also worked for Wardwell in Saco, as a caterer in Biddeford and Saco and at Nike in Biddeford for many years.
She enjoyed playing cards and going out to eat with friends.
She was a parishioner of St. Joseph Church, Good Shepherd Parish, in Biddeford. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella.
Survivors include her stepsister, Betty Hanson of California; one aunt, Sister Marguerite Gendron; and two cousins, Doris Pare and Donald Gendron.

Elinor Caddigan
Elinor Caddigan, 95, formerly of Saco, died at her home in Winthrop Monday, Aug. 2, 2010.
She was born Jan. 25, 1915, in Biddeford to John J. and Anne (Donovan) O’Sullivan.
She graduated from Biddeford High School in 1932.
Mrs. Caddigan worked as an accountant for the U.S. Marshal Service for 20 years.
She was predeceased by her husband, Dan Caddigan, in 1962.
Mrs. Caddigan is survived by her three sons, Kevin Caddigan of Dayton, William Caddigan of Bethel and Thomas Caddigan and his wife, Diane, of Saco; her daughter Sheila Caouette and her husband, Theodore, of Winthrop, with whom she resided; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

William G. Holland
William “Wild Bill” G. Holland, 94, of Old Orchard Beach, died Thursday, Aug. 5, 2010, at South Ridge Rehabilitation and Living Center in Biddeford.
He was born Dec. 9, 1915, in Lynn, Mass., to William G. and Evelyn (Rittinger) Holland.
He attended local schools in Winthrop, Mass., and graduated from Winthrop High School in 1934 and attended Tufts University.
On Jan. 19, 1938, he married Rita Moran. They lived in various New England states and moved to Old Orchard Beach in 1958. Mr. Holland was a determined and diverse man who had a strong work ethic. He was a porter in a prestigious hotel in Boston, Mass.; a radio control operator at Brainard Field in Connecticut during World War II; and owned his own fleet of 22 planes at the time. He worked as a taxi dispatcher, oil truck driver and started his own business as a plumber. He later became an insurance salesmen and auto insurance adjuster, which necessitated a family move to Warwick, R.I., on Aug. 31, 1954, in the middle of Hurricane Carol. Shortly after, he also started Pyramid Realty as a building contractor and built four houses in Warwick.
In 1961, he went back to college and earned his teaching degree from Gorham State Teachers College along with his wife, Rita, and his daughter, Patricia. Following graduation he taught in public schools in Lewiston and Wells; Danbury, Conn.; and Lowell, Mass. He served as principal in Sanford, after earning his master’s degree in education.
He also was a member of the Massachusetts Teachers Association. After retirement in 1981, he worked in real estate, was a short order cook in various seasonal restaurants and at Aquaboggan.
He loved to relate stories and personal experiences of famous people he had met. He was an avid reader, particularly newspapers, and enjoyed receiving subscriptions of different newspapers from around the country as birthday and Christmas gifts.
Mr. Holland was predeceased by his wife and his brother, Charles G. Holland.
Survivors include his son, William C. Holland and wife, Mary, of Nashua, N.H.; four daughters, Patricia Holland of Old Orchard Beach, Judith Danforth and husband, Wayne, of Medway, Michaele Curtis and husband, Steve, of Barnstead, N.H., and Stephanie Barnes and husband, John, of Tarpon Springs, Fla.; two sisters, Grace Tobey of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Evelyn Graf of Manchester, N.H.; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Patricia A. Eckmier
Patricia Ann Greene Eckmier, 75, of Homosassa, Fla., died Wednesday, June 16, 2010, at Hospice House and Support Care of Williamsburg, Va.
She was born Feb. 13, 1935, in Sanford, to the late Frank F. Greene and Alice Perron Greene. She attended Thornton Academy and moved to the Miami area, then resided in the Homosassa area for more than 20 years.
Mrs. Eckmier was a member of the Citrus County Women’s Bowling Association and loved spending time with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Stanley Eckmier; her mother, Alice Greene Eastman; her sister, Ruth Grady; and brothers Frank and Raymond Greene.
Survivors include her sons, Michael and Gary Petrin; stepson Randy Eckmier; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; her brothers Warren Greene and Daniel Eastman; and nieces and nephews.
