Marcelle W. Duranceau
Marcelle W. Duranceau, 86, of Biddeford and formerly of Hills Beach, died Thursday, Sept. 30, 2010, at St. Andre Health Care Facility in Biddeford after a long illness.
She was born Jan. 31, 1924, in Biddeford to Wilfrid and Georgiana Morin Cote and was educated in Biddeford schools.
On Sept. 6, 1941, she married Harold J. Duranceau at St. Andre Church in Biddeford. He died on Feb. 6, 2004.
Mrs. Duranceau worked for Sears & Roebuck, Murphy’s Furrier, Koenig & Beaudoin Clearview Market and St. Francis College.
She was a member of St. Mary Church, Union St. Jean Baptist Council St. Therese No. 160, the Daughters of Isabella for more than 40 years, a member and past president of St. Mary Church Sodality, St. Mary Parish Council and served on the church life committee, Catholic Women of Maine and Biddeford Senior Citizens.
She volunteered at St. Andre Health Care Facility, was treasurer of the Hills Beach Fire Department and Hills Beach Association. She did volunteer work for the Red Cross and the American Cancer Society. She was warden for Ward 1 of the Democratic Party in Biddeford. She loved to play cards, work in her flower garden, pick berries and travel. She took pride in the career paths of her grandchildren and the endeavors of her great-grandchildren.

Richard L. Maurice
Richard L. Maurice, 63, of Dayton died Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2010, at Gosnell Hospice in Scarborough after a long illness.
He was born Jan. 5, 1947, in Biddeford to Louis J. and Pauline Marcotte Maurice. He attended St. Louis High School and graduated in 1965 from Biddeford High School, where he played football and baseball.
Mr. Maurice served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
On May 9, 1970, he married Priscille G. Thibodeau at St. Andre Church in Biddeford. She died on July 3, 2010.
Mr. Maurice worked a few years at local construction companies and then worked more than 30 years at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard until his retirement in 2005. He was a member of the Masons. He enjoyed motorcycling, bike riding, hunting, snowshoeing, hiking, camping, working in his workshop and being with his grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons, Todd R. Maurice of Biddeford and Jason K. Maurice and his wife, Danielle, of Dayton; his mother of Saco; three brothers, Ralph E. Maurice of Arundel, Kenneth A. Maurice and his wife, Jackie, of Exeter, N.H. and James R. Maurice and his wife, Debbie, of Bridgton; three grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Therese G. Brunelle
Therese G. Brunelle, 90, of Biddeford died Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2010, at Southridge Living Center in Biddeford.
She was born Jan. 2, 1920, in Black Lake, Quebec, Canada, to John and Henriette Boucher Godbout. She was educated in Biddeford schools and graduated from the former St. Joseph High School in 1938.
On May 6, 1946, she married Hervey Brunelle at St. Joseph Church in Biddeford. He died June 11, 1995.
Mrs. Brunelle was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Joseph Church and active in many church functions and church choir for many years.
Survivors include two sons, Michel R. Brunelle and his wife, Penny, of Florida, and Bernard Brunelle and his wife, Gina, of Georgia; her adopted daughter, Bridget Howard and her partner, Robert Cantara, of Biddeford; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements were by Hope Memorial Chapel, Biddeford.
Carmine J. Russo
Carmine John Russo, 87, of Saco, died Sunday, Sept. 24, 2010, after a long illness.
He was born in New York and moved to Maine with his wife in 1994 to be closer to his daughter and grandchildren. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II and worked first as a machinist and then for the New York City Transit Authority, where he retired as a foreman.
He married Veronica Vail Russo in 1945 and they spent the next 50 years together raising two children and enjoying four grandchildren.
Life in Maine brought Mr. Russo many new friends. He joined the Italian Heritage Center in Portland where he enjoyed weekly bocci games and fright night pool, as well as the Amvets in Yarmouth, where he enjoyed card games.
One of his greatest joys was spending time with his four grandchildren, and he never missed a soccer game or school play. He also traveled often with his brother, Leon.
Mr. Russo was predeceased by his wife, Veronica, in 1995.
Survivors include his son Peter and wife, Sarah, of Oahu, Hawaii; his daughter Renee’ Russo of Saco; honorary son, Paul Fedorczyk; his brothers Leon Russo, Louis Russo and wife, Josephine, Dominic Russo and wife, Eleanor; his sister Mary; four grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Arrangements were by Cote Funeral Home, Saco.
Charles H. Scribner
Charles H. Scribner, 87, of Pleasantwood Estates in Old Orchard Beach, died Friday, Oct. 1, 2010. There will be no visitation. A funeral mass was celebrated Oct. 6, in St. Margaret’s Church, corner of Saco Avenue and Old Orchard Street.
