Lloyd S. Christie, 86, formerly of Saco, died Sunday, Oct. 31, 2010, at the Maine Veteran’s Home.
He was born March 20, 1924.
Survivors include his daughter, Donna Wall and her husband, Clayton; two brothers, David and Fred Christie; his sister, Mary Christie; three grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, several nieces and one nephew.
Lillian Rossignol
Lillian Rossignol, 87, of Saco, died Saturday, Oct. 30, 2010, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.
She was born May 25, 1923, in Ashland to Denis and Clara Labbe Plourde.
Mrs. Rossignol was a homemaker who enjoyed raising her family.
She loved family gatherings at their camp at Little Ossipee Lake. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed fishing with her husband, David, and going out to eat.
Mrs. Rossignol was a parishioner of the former Notre Dame de Lourdes Church in Saco.
She was preceded in death by her husband on May 18, 2001; her son, David, on Dec. 31, 2009; two daughters, Florence Benson on June 10, 2009, and Janita Gagne on Aug. 16, 2010; one grandson and two brothers, Reynald and Reginald Plourde.
Survivors include three daughters, Georgia Mae and her husband, Andre LaBelle, of Cocoa, Fla., Lorraine Lacasse and her husband, Ron, of Poinciana, Fla., and Shirley Fortier and her husband, Philip, of North Waterboro, with whom she resided; 16 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; her daughter-in-law, Paula Rossignol, and two sons-in law Robert Benson and Roger Gagne.

Philip G. Bald
Philip G. Bald, 80, of Biddeford died Friday, Oct. 29, 2010, at Maine Medical Center in Portland. He was born Oct. 11, 1930, in Biddeford to Alfred and Lina Caron Bald and educated in Biddeford schools.
Mr. Bald served with the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
On July 11, 1953, he married Jeannette L. Roy at St. Joseph Church in Biddeford.
He worked 39 years at General Electric Co. in Somersworth, N.H., and retired in 1989. He was a member of St. Louis Alumni Association and Happy Rovers. He enjoyed metal detecting, fishing, hunting and snowmobiling.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Andrew and Gerald Bald and four sisters, Irene Fournier, Lorraine Ryan, Pauline Marcotte and Juliette Beaudoin.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years of Biddeford; two sons, Michael P. Bald and his wife, Darlene, of Biddeford and Raymond L. Bald and his wife, Lisa, of York; two daughters, Diane B. Rowlett and her husband, Jim, of Fayetteville, N.C., and Susan E. LaBreck and husband, Scott, of Saco; one brother, Armand Bald and his wife, Laurette, of Somersworth, N.H.; two sisters, Annette DesRoberts and her husband, Raymond, of Lyman and Laurette Dumas of Kennebunk; 11 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Cecile M. Hanson
Cecile M. Hanson, 64, of Biddeford died Friday, Oct. 29, 2010, at Southern Maine Medical Center following a lengthy illness.
She was born March 17, 1946, in Biddeford to Albert J. and Gertrude Dauphinais Pontbriant Sr. She was a 1964 graduate of St. Joseph High School.
On Nov.18, 1967, she married Roger Hanson at St. Joseph Church in Biddeford.
Mrs. Hanson was self-employed baking and decorating cakes and also owned and operated a ceramics shop where she gave lessons. She also worked as a cook at St. Joseph Convent in Biddeford.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Albert Pontbriant Jr.
Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Roger Hanson; a daughter, Diane Hanson and her partner, Janet Moore; her sister, Priscille Bowden; her brother, Maurice Pontbriant of Massachusetts; the mother of her grandchildren, Ruth Hanson of Biddeford; two grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Alan W. Wood
Alan W. Wood, 67, of Kennebunk, died Thursday, Oct. 28, 2010, at Goodall Hospital in Sanford.
He was born Feb. 2, 1943, in Rutland, Mass., to Harold and Florence Adams Wood and was educated in Rutland schools.
Mr. Wood served in the U.S. Army during the early 1960s. He worked several years at Honeycomb Inc. in Biddeford, Northern York County YMCA in Biddeford, Alpha Carbide in Saco and Fiber Materials in Biddeford.
He enjoyed fishing, wood crafting, glass etching and socializing at his camp at Sand Pond in Sanford. He loved to go to American Indian powwows all over New England and was known as a collector and maker of welding artwork. He lived off the land and gave back to nature by feeding wildlife.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Theresa Merrill Wood, on Nov. 8, 2009.
Survivors include his son, daughter, brothers, a sister, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, aunts, uncles, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Edward C. Dalton Sr.
Edward C. Dalton Sr., 61, of Arundel, died Thursday, Oct. 28, 2010, at Southern Maine Medical Center following a brief illness.
He was born Jan. 22, 1949, in Portland to Stanley and Margaret (Campbell) Dalton. He attended Kennebunk schools.
On June 14, 1969, he married Bernice M. Merrill at the Kennebunk Baptist Church.
Mr. Dalton enlisted with the U.S. Army in 1970. He served during the Vietnam War, was honorably discharged in 1972, and served several years in the National Guard.
He worked with the city of Biddeford for more than 22 years as a truck driver and chief shop steward for Teamsters Local 340. He loved his work and all the people he met.
He loved watching and cheering for the New England Patriots and watching wrestling. He also enjoyed spending time on the computer and entertaining his family and friends with his dry sense of humor.
Survivors include his wife of more than 41 years, Bernice “Bernie” Dalton; one daughter, Ann Lantagne and her husband, James, of Arundel; one son, Edward C. Dalton Jr. and his wife, Jennifer, of Saco; and two grandchildren.

Lena Grenier
Lena Grenier, 89, died Thursday, Oct. 28, 2010, of natural causes at the Inn at Atlantic Heights.
She was born April 21, 1921, in Biddeford to Leila and Desire Auger, the oldest of 13 children. She was a member of the Biddeford/Saco community her entire life.
She was well known as a home economics teacher at St. Joseph High School and later became an advocate for “non-smoking” after successfully overcoming larynx cancer. She dedicated her life to doing volunteer work with the American Cancer Society, teaching other laryngotomies esophageal speech and lecturing in schools throughout the state on the danger of smoking.
She was the recipient of numerous awards from the cancer society, including volunteer of the year and the 2003 6 Who Care award for exceptional service to the community.
She was predeceased by her husband, Meo, on March 6, 2010, after 69 years of marriage; her brothers, Philip, Morris, Normand and Reynold and two sisters, Rita and Lucille.
Survivors include her two daughters, Florence Martin of Biddeford and Pricilla and husband, Gerard Picard of Saco; four sons, Roger and his wife, Nancy, of Hickory, N.C., Dennis and his wife, Virginia, of Danvers, Mass., Claude and his wife, Sharon, of Old Orchard Beach and Bernard of New York; her brothers Robert Auger of Mississippi and Richard Auger of Old Orchard Beach; her sisters Rachel Ruel of Alfred, Claire Credit and Francoise Auger of Biddeford and Mignonne Nelson of New Port Ritchie, Fla.; 24 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.

Anita I. Lessard
Anita I. Lessard, 93, of Biddeford died Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2010, at Southern Maine Medical Center after a long illness.
She was born Nov. 22, 1916, in Biddeford to Onezime and Rose Anna Desmarais Sayer. She was educated in Biddeford schools and graduated from St. Andre High School in 1932.
On Sept. 13, 1941, she married Raoul P.A. Lessard at St. Joseph Church in Biddeford. He died Oct.16, 2004.
Mrs. Lessard worked 35 years at Mitchell Shoe Shop on State Street in Biddeford and Kesslen Shoe Shop in Kennebunk. She last worked 10 years as manager of the Fairfield School cafeteria in Saco and retired in 1978. She enjoyed knitting, sewing and doing home crafts.
Survivors include her daughter, Rachel M. Sammarco and her husband, John, of Biddeford; one son, Donald R. Lessard and his wife, Lucy, of Biddeford; four grandchildren, Dean Lessard, Lisa Parker, Jennifer Defond and Jeff Wentworth; five great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Madeleine T. Perreault
Madeleine T. Perreault, 81, of Biddeford died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2010, at Southern Maine Medical Center.
She was born Jan. 18, 1929, in Biddeford to Diomede and Flore E. Potvin Boissonnault and was educated locally. She was valedictorian of St. Andre High School’s class of 1948.
On May 26, 1951, she married Rene Perreault at St. Andre Church in Biddeford.
Mrs. Perreault was employed in several area stores and worked in the St. Andre School cafeteria for 12 years. She retired in 1988.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Aug.16, 1999, and her sister, Claire Dubois, in 1999.
Survivors include two sons, Ronald Perreault and his wife, Sylvia, of Arundel and Bernard Perreault and his wife, Donna, of Biddeford; two daughters, Judith Carter and her husband, Dana, of Lyman and Jane LaPoint and her husband, Michael, of Saco; two brothers, Norman Boissonnault and his wife, Aline, of Biddeford and Roger Boissonnault and his wife, Ruth, of Biddeford; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Germaine M. Landry
Germaine M. Landry, 86, of Biddeford died Monday, Oct. 25, 2010, at Southern Maine Medical Center in Biddeford.
She was born April 29, 1924, in Biddeford to Alfred and Odina St. Louis Moulin and was educated in Biddeford schools.
On April 29, 1944, she married Raymond M. Landry at St. Andre Church. He died on May 21, 2002.
Mrs. Landry was a homemaker. She enjoyed doing knitting, puzzles and the company of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Aline Provencher, on Oct. 13, 2010, and her son-in-law, Barry Bouffard on Nov.19, 2006.
Survivors include six daughters, Priscille Fecteau and her husband, Robert, of Sanford, Claire Bouffard of Saco, Annette Bellefeuille and her husband, Marc, of Biddeford, Dianne Dery and her husband, Ronald, of Biddeford, Joanne Landry and her husband, Jim Macomber, of Saco and Carol Landry and her husband, Ray Charland, of Biddeford; one brother, Leo Paul Moulin of Biddeford; one sister, Lucille Lafortune of Biddeford; 12 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Chad D. French
Chad D. French, 28, of Biddeford died Monday, Oct. 25, 2010, at his home following years of severe respiratory difficulties.
He was born July 29, 1982, in Bangor, to Keith and Sandra McLain French. He moved here as a child, was home-schooled and recently had received his GED.
Mr. French recently worked at the Getty station at Main and Elm streets in Biddeford. He enjoyed hiking and was an avid reader.
He was preceded in death by his mother in January 2001; his maternal grandmother Pauline McLain in March 2009 and a cousin.
Survivors include his father, Keith V. French Sr. and his wife, Heather, of Elkton, Va.; three brothers, Keith French Jr. of Gastonia, N.C., Nathaniel French serving in the U.S. Army in Korea and Andrew A. French of Elkton, Va.; two sisters, Kimberly Amy French of Arundel and Trisha Perrault of Biddeford; his maternal grandfather, the Rev. Joel A. McLain of Biddeford; paternal grandparents Vivan and Vernie French of Weeks Mills; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
