Marc C. Bellefeuille

 

Marc Charles “Bubba” Bellefeuille, 60, of Biddeford, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011.

He was born Nov. 8, 1950, to Leo Paul and Violette (Beaudion) Bellefeuille. He attended local schools and was a 1969 graduate of St. Louis High School.

On May 5, 1972, he married Annette Landry at St. Andre Church in Biddeford.

In 1972, he followed his father to become a member of the Biddeford Fire Department Call Force. He progressed through the ranks and in 1998 became chief of the Wells Fire Department. He returned to Biddeford in 2003 as deputy of emergency services and training.

Mr. Bellefeuille was an instructor for Maine Fire Training and Education, and for 23 years was coordinator for Maine State Weekend at the National Fire Academy. He was a graduate of the executive fire officers program at the academy and was responsible for the first Firefighter I and II programs in York County. He concluded his 38 years of service on April 10, 2009, with a last ride home to his family.

He was a member of many civic and community groups, including the Boy Scouts of America.  After earning the rank of Eagle Scout, he served in many capacities, including as a troop leader for both of his children.

He was a frequent volunteer at the Seashore Trolley Museum and the Maine Narrow Gauge Railroad, and spent last summer as a conductor with the Conway Scenic Railroad in North Conway, N.H.  He was a member of the Maine State Parkinson’s Board of Directors and coordinated a local support group, giving back to the community despite his own medical trials. 

Mr. Bellefeuille was interested in astronomy, an avid fly-fisherman, Civil War buff and had a lifelong love of locomotives. He also was a talented carpenter.

He was preceded in death by his father in 1978 and his mother in 2001.

Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Annette Bellefeuille; two sons, Todd Bellefeuille and his wife, Donna, and Adam Bellefeuille; and two grandchildren.

Arrangements are by Hope Memorial Chapel, Biddeford.

 

Rollande Ledoux

 

Rollande Ledoux, 97, of Biddeford, died Monday, Jan. 31, 2011, at St. Andre Health Care Facility.

She was born July 29, 1913, in Black Lake, Quebec to France and Marie (Laliberte) Gagnon. She moved to the High Pines area of Wells as a child and was educated locally.

On July 11, 1936, she married Marc E. Ledoux in Pawtucket, R.I.

She was employed in Rhode Island as a weaver in the local mills and then at Kesslen Shoe in Kennebunk.

She was a member of St. Joseph Church and a former member of the Sodality of Saint Anne and enjoyed knitting and all other handcrafts.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Marc E. “Mike” Ledoux in 1991; her son, Richard Ledoux, in 1982: three brothers, Albert, Alfred and Gerard Gagnon; and three sisters, Lydia Graton, Alice Burbank and Marion Pratt.

Survivors include two daughters, Claire Downing and her husband, Roger of Tyngsboro, Mass., and Patricia Pontbriant and her husband, Maurice, of Naples, Fla.; one son, Roger Ledoux and his wife, Laurette, of Dayton; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Patricia A. Wallace

 

Patricia A. Wallace, 74, of Biddeford, died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2011, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough following a lengthy illness.

She was born July 25, 1936, in Waterville to the late Alfred and Verna (Sidell) Smith Sr. She attended Portland schools.

She worked for several years in Portland restaurants and Portland Fish Co. She later worked at the Portland twine factory and last worked for the Hartford (Conn.) School System until her retirement in 1979.

She loved listening to music, dancing and singing. She also enjoyed family card games and especially loved hosting family gatherings and celebrations.

Survivors include two daughters, Gloria J. Warrick and her husband, Danilo, of Standish, and Barbara A. Smith and her husband, Richard, of Bridgton; three sons, Guy F. Gowen Jr. of West Falmouth, Michael A. Stevens and his wife, Florence, of Standish and William F. Sorensen III and his wife, Maureen, of Hartford, Conn.; one sister, Jacqueline Gilliam of Northbridge, Mass.; 11 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements were by Hope Memorial Chapel, Biddeford.

 

Eleanor R. Alongi

 

Eleanor Rita (Carangelo) Alongi, 93, of Saco, died with her family at her side on Saturday, Jan. 29, 2011.

She was born Aug. 28, 1917, in Boston, one of 13 children of Ferdinand and Philomena Carangelo.

She married the late Joseph Aiello and resided in Revere, Mass., for many years and owned and operated a beauty salon in Everett, Mass.

After retirement, she married Sebastian Alongi and lived in York Beach and Ft. Myers, Fla.

Survivors include three children and her stepdaughter, Lawrence Aiello and his wife, Patricia, of Andover, Mass., Frederic Aiello and his wife, Margaret, of Turner, Jo-Ann Pack and husband, Frank, of Kennebunk, and Lucille Alongi and husband, Rudy, of Gardena, Calif.; 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Arrangements were by Cote Funeral Home, Saco.
