Bonnie Brooks Meserve

 

Bonnie Brooks Meserve, 64, formally of Biddeford and Cape Porpoise, died Friday, April 15, 2011, in Seattle, Wash., surrounded by her family after being ill with ovarian cancer.

She was born July 24, 1946, in Detroit Mich., to Sarah and John Brooks. She attended St. Mary’s School and was a 1964 Biddeford High School graduate. She graduated in 1966 from Pierce Secretarial School in Boston.

She worked for many years in Kennebunkport restaurants while raising her children and later worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Kennebunkport and Portland before retiring.

She became a jewelry designer in retirement and was talented at gardening, decorating and crafts. She also was a huge NASCAR fan.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Sarah Jane Brooks, in 2004 and two grandsons, Joshua and Chaim Werblud.

Survivors include her two children, Dr. Tabitha Miller Werblud, of Seattle Wash., and Arthur J Miller, III and his partner, Kathy Allen, of Biddeford; her father, John Brooks, of Nalcrest Fla.; her sister, Karen Simard and her husband, Leo, of Biddeford; her brother, Rickie Brooks, and his wife, Jean, of Biddeford; three grandchildren, two nieces and several cousins.
