Two Portland men face felony charges for their alleged role in a Saco shooting and burglary last December.

Ahmed Ibrahim Alshara, 20, and Sameer Majeed, 21, were indicted last week by a York County grand jury on charges of burglary with a firearm and reckless conduct with a firearm.

Katia Fonseca, 18, of South Portland, was indicted last month on felony burglary and hindering arrest charges for her alleged role in the case.

All three are charged in connection with a burglary 3 p.m. Dec. 30 at a Louden Road home. The burglary was interrupted when the homeowner returned home, according to police.

The homeowner pursued two suspects along Louden Road. One suspect was allegedly pulling a hand truck typically used by movers, police said. Police said it appeared the men forced Fonseca to stop and then jumped into her car.

One suspect allegedly fired at least two shots with a handgun at the homeowner before Fonseca drove away, police said. Fonseca told police she was forced to drive to New County Road (Route 5), where the suspects got into another vehicle. Police were told one of the men called the other driver as they left the crime scene.

After dropping off Alshara and Majeed, Fonseca was stopped by police on Buxton Road near Saco Middle School and told the officer she was the victim of a carjacking. Police said further investigation showed Fonseca allegedly was working with Alshara and Majeed.

Police in January searched a residence and business on Ocean Avenue in Portland as part of the investigation.

Fonseca is scheduled to be arraigned June 10 in York County Superior Court. Court dates have not been scheduled for Alshara and Majeed.
